The University of Ilorin will on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, confer honours on 65 prominent Nigerians at its “Investiture Ceremony of UNILORIN Ambassadors, Distinguished Alumni, and Awards of Excellence,” held in the university’s main auditorium. The event forms part of UNILORIN’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.
Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, and Comptroller‑General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mrs. Kemi Nandap, head a distinguished list of 65 honourees.
According to Mr. Kunle Akogun, Director of Corporate Affairs, the awards break down as follows:
Award of Excellence: 1 alumnus and 1 distinguished Nigerian
Distinguished Alumni: 10 distinguished graduates
UNILORIN Ambassadors: 50 individuals plus three graduating sets
Renowned legal practitioner Olaolu Ali, SAN, will deliver the keynote address, highlighting the ceremony’s role in celebrating those who have enhanced UNILORIN’s reputation and contributed to its growth.
“This ceremony not only recognises our honourees’ achievements but also reflects the pride we share as members of the UNILORIN family,” said Prof. AbdulRasheed Adeoye, Chairman of the Awards Planning Committee.

Mr. Babatunde Omotowa, former Managing Director, Nigerian LNG Ltd.
Dr. Awa Ibrahim, chartered accountant
Dr. Sarah Omotunde Alade, former Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria
Mr. Eniola Bello, Managing Director, ThisDay Newspapers
Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, immediate past Vice‑Chancellor, University of Abuja
