UNILAG VC Welcomes MFM General Overseer, Dr. D.K. Olukoya, After Funding Renovation of Key Administrative Offices

The Management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, OON, FAS, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, received the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, who visited the institution to inspect the newly renovated offices of the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, which he personally funded.

The upgrade of the offices includes modern furniture installations, improved interior décor, upgraded toilet facilities, new doors, chairs, and computers, all designed to enhance functionality, efficiency, and aesthetics within the university’s administrative environment.

During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor, alongside the Registrar, Mrs. V. Abosede Wickliffe, expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Olukoya for his generosity and unwavering support toward the institution’s growth. They conducted him on a guided tour of the refurbished spaces, commending his continuous contributions to the university’s development.

Dr. Olukoya, a globally respected pastor, scientist, and professor of genetics and biotechnology, has a long-standing relationship with UNILAG. He previously contributed to the establishment of the D.K. Olukoya Central Research and Reference Laboratories, reinforcing his passion for education, research development, and capacity building in Nigeria.

The renovation project is expected to significantly improve the working environment and productivity of university administrators, aligning with UNILAG’s broader efforts to upgrade infrastructure and sustain its reputation as a leading institution of learning and research in Nigeria. The gesture further underscores the importance of strategic partnerships and individual philanthropy in strengthening tertiary education across the country.
