The 2025 NUGA volleyball events wrapped up on Friday, November 14, at the University of Jos Naraguta Campus, with Taraba State University (TSU) and Kaduna State University (KASU) emerging as the dominant forces in the beach volleyball categories.

The final day delivered a mix of highs and lows for TSU. The institution’s male beach volleyball team was eliminated after failing to appear for their semifinal match — a setback traced to a coordination lapse involving officials juggling both indoor and beach volleyball schedules.

However, TSU quickly rebounded, putting on a commanding display in the women’s beach volleyball category, where they clinched gold, reaffirming their status as one of the tournament’s top performers.

The medal table across both male and female categories highlighted a strong northern presence, with TSU, KASU, KWASU, and ATBU all claiming podium finishes.

In the female category, TSU’s consistency saw them finish at the top, taking gold, while Kaduna State University (KASU) followed closely with silver. Kwara State University (KWASU) completed the lineup with bronze, after a competitive run.

The male beach volleyball finals saw KASU dominate the field, capturing gold after an impressive tournament performance. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) claimed silver, while KWASU secured their second medal of the competition with bronze.

The results underscored KWASU’s steady medal form, earning podium finishes in both categories, while KASU showcased depth and balance with medals in both the men’s and women’s events.
