Akure, July 17, 2025 — The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a landlord and two other suspects in connection with the kidnap and murder of two students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, disclosed this during a press briefing in Akure. He identified the victims as 25-year-old Abah Friday and his 19-year-old friend, Okah Eloho, who were declared missing on June 20.

The arrest followed a petition submitted by a legal firm on behalf of Friday’s brother. Investigations led detectives to Lagos, where an iPhone 14 Pro Max belonging to the victims was recovered from one Abdul Mohammed Mubarak, who confessed to buying it from Ojo Michael, another suspect later arrested in Ekiti State.

Michael confessed to participating in the abduction and murder, and identified Oladele Femi, the victims’ landlord, as the mastermind. Femi allegedly hired Michael and another accomplice, currently on the run, to carry out the crime. The police also recovered a Lexus RX 350 and traced a suspicious ₦800,000 bank transfer from one of the victim’s accounts during captivity.

Investigations are ongoing as police hunt for the remaining suspect.
