The Ogun State Government has officially launched OgunLEARN (Ogun Learning Enhancement and Academic Resource Network) as a major milestone in its ongoing digital transformation of the education sector.
At the unveiling ceremony, the state government reaffirmed its commitment to education as the most sustainable foundation for development, stressing the need to move beyond conventional classroom practices and fully embrace innovation and technology in teaching and learning.
OgunLEARN was introduced as a strategic investment targeted at delivering inclusive, equitable and quality education to learners across the state, irrespective of background or location. The digital platform is structured to provide curriculum-aligned learning resources, support teachers with instructional tools, promote self-paced study, and stimulate creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills among students.
The government noted that, as the Education Capital of Nigeria, Ogun State views OgunLEARN not merely as a digital solution but as a long-term commitment to preparing its learners for the future of work and global competitiveness.
The unveiling also underscored the state’s leadership in education reform through wide-ranging digitalisation programmes, continuous teacher capacity development, improved Education Management Information Systems (EMIS), large-scale school rehabilitation, upgraded science laboratories, and the modernisation of technical colleges.
In addition, the government highlighted several complementary education and skills initiatives already in operation, including the Ogun Skills Fund, OgunEduCASH, OgunSchoLAR, OgunREHAB, OgunTEACh and OgunDiPER, all aimed at strengthening learning outcomes and accelerating human capital development in the state.
The state further revealed the integration of Artificial Intelligence education into its learning framework as a forward-looking investment in socio-economic growth, designed to equip students with relevant digital and innovation skills to compete locally and globally.
The launch of OgunLEARN, the government said, represents a significant step toward building a resilient, technology-driven education system capable of meeting the demands of a rapidly evolving world.
