The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the opening of its mobilisation portal for the online registration of prospective corps members ahead of the next service year.

In a notice shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) page, the scheme disclosed that the portal will be open from March 12 to March 18, 2026, for both locally trained and foreign-trained Nigerian graduates preparing for mobilisation.

According to the management of the scheme, the announcement is particularly directed at accredited Cybercafe Business Operators (CBOs) who are responsible for capturing and processing the registration details of prospective corps members.

The NYSC advised operators to ensure that only validated computer systems equipped with high-resolution cameras are used during the registration process to avoid delays or complications in data capture.

As part of the registration requirements, the scheme outlined specific guidelines that must be followed when taking passport photographs of prospective corps members.

Operators are expected to ensure adequate lighting during the image capture process, while the heads of prospective corps members must be properly positioned so that both ears are clearly visible.

The notice further stated that passport photographs must be taken against a white or off-white background, in line with NYSC’s data capture standards.

In addition, the scheme warned that prospective corps members must not wear eyeglasses during the photograph capture process and their faces must remain completely visible without any form of obstruction.

The NYSC also cautioned against indecent dressing during the registration exercise, stressing that nudity or appearing in only underwear for the purpose of image capture will not be permitted.

Similarly, the use of NYSC, military, or paramilitary uniforms during the registration process has been strictly prohibited.

The management of the scheme warned that any accredited cybercafe operator found violating the guidelines could face sanctions.

The mobilisation portal remains a crucial stage in the preparation of graduates for the NYSC programme, which mandates Nigerian graduates below the age of 30 to participate in a one-year national service aimed at promoting national integration and development.
