Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has released its approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session following formal endorsement by the University Senate. The institution says the new schedule is designed to ensure a seamless, well-coordinated and stable academic year.

The directive was conveyed in an internal circular signed by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor B. S. Jatau, and disseminated to the university community. The management emphasized that all faculties, departments and administrative units must strictly align their operations with the approved timelines.

According to the calendar, the university portal will open for registration of newly admitted and returning students on Sunday, January 4, 2026, and close on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Students are strongly advised to complete their registration within the stipulated period to avoid penalties or academic complications.

The management stressed that timely registration remains crucial for proper documentation, smooth access to academic services, and full participation in lectures and examinations. Those who fail to meet the deadline risk challenges that may affect their academic progression.

The calendar also captures activities for the Third Semester (Second Batch) students. Revision and examinations for this category will run from Monday, January 12 to Saturday, January 24, 2026, coinciding with the general registration exercise. Departments overseeing third-semester programmes have been directed to coordinate schedules efficiently to prevent clashes or disruptions.

In addition, the university announced that resumption and commencement of lectures for all students—freshers, returning and third-semester—will begin on Monday, February 2, 2026. The institution noted that the uniform resumption date is intended to promote academic stability, proper course delivery and adherence to the semester structure across faculties.

Deans, Heads of Departments and unit coordinators have been urged to ensure that classrooms, laboratories and essential academic facilities are adequately prepared ahead of resumption to support quality teaching and learning.

Professor Jatau reiterated that strict adherence to the approved academic calendar is mandatory, warning that any deviation could disrupt the academic flow of the session and affect the university’s overall schedule.

Students and staff have therefore been encouraged to take note of the key dates and prepare accordingly, as NSUK sets course for a well-structured and hitch-free 2025/2026 academic year.
