Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has released its officially approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session, following formal ratification by the University Senate. According to the institution, the schedule has been carefully structured to guarantee a seamless, well-coordinated, and stable academic year.
Speaking on the development, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Barrister Ibrahim Usman, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to due process, credible academic planning, and institutional growth.
He noted that the university’s leadership decisions and academic direction are guided strictly by the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act and all relevant regulatory frameworks.
“NSUK remains committed to sustaining academic excellence, strengthening institutional structures, and positioning the university for global competitiveness,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the academic community has also welcomed the appointment of Professor Geidam as Vice-Chancellor, describing it as a strategic move aligned with the university’s developmental aspirations.
Professor Geidam, a seasoned scholar and Professor of Veterinary Medicine with over two decades of academic and administrative experience, joins NSUK from the University of Maiduguri, where he previously served as Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Stakeholders express optimism that his wealth of experience and leadership exposure will further support the smooth implementation of the new academic calendar and enhance academic quality across the university.
With the approved calendar now in effect, students, staff, and academic units are expected to align their activities accordingly as NSUK prepares for a structured and progressive 2025/2026 academic session.
