Nigerian Law School Rolls Out Make-Up Programme for Students with Withheld Bar Results

The Nigerian Law School has announced a structured make-up programme for students whose results were withheld in the December 2025 Bar Final Examinations, offering them a pathway to regularise outstanding requirements and secure their results.

The initiative targets candidates who failed to complete key components of the programme, particularly externships, portfolio assessments, and mandatory dinners—requirements considered essential for qualification and eventual call to the Nigerian Bar.

According to details released by the institution, the make-up programme is divided into phases, beginning with a court externship designed to provide participants with practical courtroom exposure, followed by a law office externship aimed at strengthening real-world legal practice experience.

Participants will also undergo a portfolio defence, where they are expected to present and justify their externship reports before assessors. In addition, students who missed the compulsory Law School dinners will be given designated dates to fulfil the requirement, ensuring full compliance with graduation conditions.

The Law School emphasised that only students with withheld results due to these deficiencies are eligible for the programme, urging affected candidates to adhere strictly to the outlined timelines and application procedures.

Applicants are required to submit relevant details, including identification information, preferred externship locations, and supporting documents, within the stipulated deadline. The institution noted that failure to meet these conditions may further delay the release of results and progression to the Call to Bar ceremony.

The development follows the release of the December 2025 Bar results, after which several candidates were unable to access their final grades due to incomplete academic obligations. The make-up programme is expected to bridge this gap, enabling affected students to complete their training and advance in their legal careers.
