Officials of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) have been called upon to strengthen internal collaboration and harmonise operational mandates in a renewed push to enhance service delivery across the state’s education sector.

The charge was delivered during a strategic engagement convened by the Lagos State Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation, where the Permanent Secretary, Toyin Anjous-Ademuyiwa, underscored the central role of teamwork and procedural compliance in driving institutional effectiveness.

Addressing members of staff, Anjous-Ademuyiwa stressed that sustainable reform is anchored on a clearly defined organisational structure and seamless collaboration between leadership and personnel. She noted that while systems and processes may be in place, their impact depends largely on consistent adherence and shared responsibility.

The Permanent Secretary further emphasised the need for the Commission to align its operations with established business processes and broader strategic objectives, particularly in line with the Lagos State T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda. She observed that periodic reviews of the institution’s vision and mission frameworks are essential to maintaining focus, measuring progress, and ensuring policy coherence.

Highlighting core values required to reposition the Commission, she identified punctuality, transparency, dedication, and active participation as non-negotiable standards. Drawing from her professional experience, Anjous-Ademuyiwa encouraged staff members to embrace continuous growth, strengthen their work ethic, and demonstrate unwavering commitment to reform initiatives.

In her response, the TESCOM Chairman, Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to operate under unified mandates and shared objectives. She assured stakeholders that education would remain a cornerstone of the state’s development blueprint and a guiding principle in TESCOM’s ongoing reform priorities.

Observers note that the renewed emphasis on collaboration and strategic alignment reflects the state government’s broader commitment to strengthening institutional capacity within the education sector.
