Prof. Olatunji-Bello also used the occasion to reiterate the university’s strict policies on student welfare and security. She stressed the institution’s zero-tolerance stance on cultism, hooliganism, corruption, and sexual and gender-based violence, calling on students to report any misconduct to the appropriate authorities. Beyond the disciplinary message, the vice-chancellor described LASU as a student-centred and forward-looking institution, committed to providing a supportive and conducive learning environment. She urged the new students to see themselves as potential generational leaders, encouraged to uphold the university’s values and contribute positively to society. Vanguard News+1
As the newest members of the LASU community settle in, their matriculation sends a clear signal: despite soaring demand, the university remains selective — and expects excellence, discipline, and integrity from those admitted.
