IGBARIAM, ANAMBRA STATE — The Chairman of Keystone Bank Limited, Lady (Dr.) Ada Chukwudozie, has once again reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment, gender inclusion, and innovation by rewarding outstanding young scientists and “Girls in Tech” innovators at the 7th Energy, Science, Technology, and Innovation Conference and Exhibitions (FAPSCON 2025), held at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam Campus.
Lady Chukwudozie, who presented cash prizes to the winners in both categories, said the gesture was part of her long-standing mission to inspire Nigeria’s next generation of innovators and aligns with Keystone Bank’s dedication to promoting education, technology, and youth development.
The conference, themed “Leveraging Indigenous Technology and Recalibrating National Priorities for Achievable Tech Innovations and SDGs in Nigeria,” brought together academics, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and students to explore pathways for sustainable technological advancement.
In her keynote address, Lady Dr. Chukwudozie urged Nigerian youths to embrace creativity and indigenous innovation as the driving force for national transformation.
“The world is rapidly evolving, and Nigeria must not be left behind,” she said. “We have brilliant minds and immense natural resources. When our young innovators focus on solutions rooted in local realities, we can redefine our economic destiny.”
She stressed that true innovation begins with self-belief, daring to experiment, and confidence in local talent.
“Every great nation began by believing in itself — and that belief must begin with you, the young people of this nation,” she added.
Addressing the “Girls in Tech” participants, Lady Chukwudozie encouraged young women to pursue leadership roles in science and technology.
“Your dreams are valid. The future of technology belongs not just to men, but to every determined woman who dares to innovate,” she said. “When women lead in technology, the impact is deeper and more sustainable.”
The event was graced by notable dignitaries including Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha, Vice Chancellor of COOU, who served as Chief Host; Chief Ifedi Godfrey Nwaejim, CEO of Treasures Suites and Conference, Abuja, who chaired the session; Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, Deputy Chief of Staff; and Engr. Dr. Chidi Nwafor, who delivered a stimulating guest lecture.
