The Kwara State Government has enlisted rising entrepreneur and innovator, Emmanuel Aanu Ajayi, to play a key role in its ongoing efforts to strengthen entrepreneurship development among students across the state.
Ajayi, a student of Kwara State University (KWASU) and a recognised young innovator, has been invited to address participants at a specialised student training programme focused on equipping young people with practical business and innovation skills. The initiative forms part of the state’s broader strategy to nurture a culture of enterprise and self-reliance among tertiary institution students.
The training programme is designed to expose participants to real-world entrepreneurial practices, including business development, financial planning, branding, and innovation management—areas critical to building sustainable ventures in today’s economy.
Ajayi’s selection is widely seen as strategic, given his track record in student innovation. He recently gained national recognition after securing a ₦50 million federal grant for a solar power project developed from recycled electronic materials, aimed at providing affordable energy solutions.
By bringing in a young and accomplished innovator, the state aims to inspire participants through relatable success stories while also providing mentorship and practical insights into navigating the entrepreneurial landscape.
Officials noted that the initiative aligns with Kwara’s sustained investment in youth empowerment programmes, which have increasingly focused on skill acquisition, innovation, and enterprise development as tools for economic growth.
The programme is expected to further strengthen students’ capacity to transform ideas into viable businesses, while positioning them to take advantage of funding opportunities and contribute meaningfully to the state’s economy.
