The Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to raising education standards, with plans to execute a N20 billion infrastructure project across all 193 wards of the state.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, made this known during a meeting with the leadership of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) in Ilorin.
According to him, the project will cover the construction and rehabilitation of classrooms, examination halls, laboratories, and toilets, as well as the installation of motorized boreholes to enhance learning environments in public schools. He explained that the initiative aligns with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision of strengthening the state’s education system.
Dr. Olohungbebe further stressed that the government is actively engaging stakeholders to ensure effective policy implementation that will transform the sector. He described the SBMC’s engagement as “timely and strategic” in aligning collective efforts towards building a stronger system.
Responding, SBMC leaders commended the government’s sustained investment in public education and pledged continuous collaboration to achieve shared goals.
