Kwara Government Announces April 20 Resumption for Third Term Schools

The Kwara State Government has directed all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state to resume academic activities for the third term on Monday, April 20, 2026.

The directive was issued by the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development following the conclusion of a three-week holiday observed by schools across the state. According to the ministry, the resumption marks the official commencement of academic activities for the final term of the 2025/2026 school session.

Education authorities urged school administrators, teachers, students, and parents to take note of the resumption date and ensure strict compliance with the directive. Schools have also been encouraged to prepare adequately to ensure a smooth start to the term and the continuation of teaching and learning activities.

The government reiterated its commitment to maintaining a unified academic calendar across both public and private institutions in the state, noting that adherence to the schedule remains essential for the orderly conduct of the school year.

With the reopening, students are expected to return to classrooms across Kwara State as schools begin the final stretch of the academic session, which typically includes revision activities, internal assessments, and preparations for end-of-session examinations.
