The Kano State Ministry of Education has debunked claims circulating on social media about an alleged plan to recruit 3,917 teachers under the so-called “Kano State Government Basic Education Teachers Mapping and Recruitment Plan (2025–2028).”

In a statement issued on Monday in Kano, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the ministry, Malam Balarabe Abdullahi, described the viral report as “misleading, baseless, and without official backing.”

Abdullahi clarified that the ministry has not issued any statement or directive authorising such recruitment and urged members of the public to disregard the false information.

“The ministry wishes to inform the general public that it has not made any official announcement regarding teacher recruitment,” he stated.

He further cautioned residents to verify all information through official government communication channels before acting on it—particularly when it concerns employment opportunities or public service matters.

“The public is warned against relying on unverified sources, especially regarding sensitive issues like teacher recruitment,” Abdullahi added.

He said the clarification was necessary to prevent misinformation and confusion among citizens, emphasising that the government remains committed to transparency and due process in all recruitment exercises.
