The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the first batch of results for candidates who participated in the opening day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), while reaffirming its resolve to clamp down on attempts to manipulate examination scores.

The examination body disclosed that the results correspond to candidates who wrote the UTME on the first day of the nationwide Computer-Based Test (CBT). According to JAMB, the release marks the beginning of a phased process that will continue as more candidates complete the examination in the coming days.

JAMB also issued a strong warning to candidates and the public against engaging with individuals or platforms claiming to have the ability to upgrade or manipulate UTME scores. The Board stressed that such claims are fraudulent and advised candidates to rely only on official channels for accessing their results.

Officials of the Board explained that the UTME system is designed with strict security measures to safeguard the integrity of the examination process, making any form of score alteration impossible. They urged candidates to disregard messages or offers from scammers promising result upgrades in exchange for payment.

The Board further emphasised its commitment to maintaining transparency and credibility in the conduct of the UTME, noting that any individual found attempting to compromise the examination system would face strict sanctions.

The UTME, which serves as the primary entrance examination for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions, continues to hold nationwide across accredited CBT centres, with thousands of candidates participating in daily sessions. JAMB assured stakeholders that the exercise is being closely monitored to ensure fairness and adherence to examination guidelines.
