The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all candidates who uploaded their O’Level results before the release of the final 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC SSCE) results to revisit accredited centres and re-upload their results.
In its latest weekly bulletin obtained yesterday, the examination body explained that all previously uploaded results had been cleared from its system to prevent discrepancies and ensure only verified WAEC results were used for admission processing.
According to JAMB, some candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with “awaiting results” had prematurely uploaded incomplete WAEC records before the official release.
“To address this, every candidate, irrespective of whether their results differ from earlier uploads, must re-upload their 2025 SSCE results to remain eligible for admission consideration,” the board stated.
Meanwhile, JAMB has also issued a stern warning to higher institutions that violated admission guidelines, describing such actions as “aberrations.” The institutions, summoned to a meeting with JAMB on August 18, 2025, tendered apologies after failing to upload matriculation lists for admitted students despite conducting admissions through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who presided over the meeting, condemned the infractions and cited Section 23, Subsection 7 of the admission guidelines, which mandates institutions to submit matriculation lists for analysis before approval of matriculation ceremonies.
“Any candidate whose name is not on the national matriculation list will be considered not to have been admitted by JAMB, and such admission remains illegitimate. No such illegal admission will be condoned,” Oloyede warned.
He further cautioned that erring institutions risked severe consequences beyond regulatory sanctions, including potential lawsuits from disenfranchised candidates.
At the end of the meeting, the affected institutions resolved to upload all outstanding matriculation lists within seven days from August 18, 2025, and ensure their affiliate institutions operate strictly under the supervision of designated parent institutions.
