The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new “Profiled Email” service designed to help candidates regain access to their examination profiles without relying on their registered SIM cards.

The initiative addresses a long-standing issue faced by candidates who lose access to their phone numbers, often leaving them unable to complete critical processes such as registration, result checking, and admission tracking.

With the new system, candidates can securely link a fresh email address to their existing JAMB profile, effectively restoring access to key services on the board’s portal. This marks a significant shift from the previous system, which depended heavily on SIM-based verification and made recovery difficult when numbers were lost or deactivated.

According to JAMB, the profiled email option provides a more flexible and accessible pathway for identity recovery, reducing the bottlenecks that have plagued candidates in past admission cycles.

To utilise the service, candidates are required to visit accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres and complete an official template known as TEMPL 006. The process involves submitting essential details such as registration number, phone number, profile code, and a new email address that has not previously been used on the JAMB platform.

Applicants must also sign a declaration confirming the accuracy of their information, a measure the board says is necessary to maintain integrity and prevent abuse of the system.

The introduction of the profiled email service follows widespread complaints from candidates who struggled to recover their accounts due to lost SIM cards. Stakeholders in the education sector have expressed optimism that the new system will improve efficiency and reduce delays in accessing vital services.

JAMB has advised candidates to complete the process promptly and ensure all submitted information is accurate to avoid complications during admission processing and other related activities.
