A student of Grundtvig International Secondary School, Michael Offorkile, has emerged as the fifth-highest scorer in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), recording an outstanding score of 367.
The school disclosed this in a statement celebrating the exceptional performance of its students in the 2026 UTME conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
According to the statement, Offorkile, who is an NNPC/SNEPCo National University Scholarship awardee, distinguished himself among thousands of candidates nationwide with his remarkable result.
“We proudly celebrate the outstanding performance of our Class of 2026 in the 2026 JAMB/UTME. Our top scorer, Michael Offorkile, an NNPC/SNEPCo NC2C Scholar, achieved an exceptional score of 367 — the fifth-highest JAMB UTME score in Nigeria, according to JAMB,” the school stated.
The management further revealed that several members of the graduating class also recorded impressive performances, noting that nearly one-quarter of the SS3 students scored 300 and above in the examination.
The school attributed the achievement to its culture of academic excellence, discipline, and holistic student development.
“This once again reflects Grundtvig’s longstanding tradition of academic excellence, discipline, and holistic student development,” the statement added.
The school also commended its teachers and parents for their support and commitment toward the students’ success.
“We congratulate Michael, the entire Class of 2026, our dedicated staff, and our supportive parents on this outstanding achievement. We wish our students continued success in their academic pursuits and future endeavours,” the statement concluded.
