The Great Independence Hall Alumni Association (GIHAA) will on Tuesday commission a newly installed public address system and unveil a redesigned logo at the University of Ibadan’s historic Independence Hall.
The event, set for 11:00 a.m. at the hall premises, highlights the alumni body’s commitment to improving student welfare and hall infrastructure. According to GIHAA, the new PA system will enhance communication and foster community spirit among students.
Professor Joseph Olutayo Yaniwura, a retired statistician and pioneer hall resident, will lead the commissioning.
GIHAA President, Mr. Omotola Ifafore, described the event as a celebration of legacy and unity. “It’s about giving back and strengthening the bond between past and present Indelites,” he said.
Independence Hall, fondly known as "Indy Hall," remains one of UI’s most iconic student residences, rich in history and student activism.
