The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna), has announced that its 34th Convocation Ceremony and 43rd Founders’ Day celebration will take place from Friday, January 23 to Sunday, February 1, 2026.
In a statement issued by the university, management said the week-long programme will begin with a Juma’at prayer on Friday, January 23, followed by a church service on Sunday, January 25.
The main convocation ceremony, where degrees and prizes will be formally awarded to graduands, is scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Suleimanu Kumo Square, Minna.
The university directed all graduands to collect their academic gowns and invitation cards from Monday, January 26, through their respective school secretaries, stressing that all prescribed fees must be paid strictly into the institution’s Treasury Single Account (TSA).
FUT Minna emphasised that attendance at the convocation ceremony is mandatory for graduands to receive their certificates and prizes. It added that graduands must present their original statement of results, clearance forms and valid means of identification during certificate collection.
The institution also warned that academic gowns must be returned immediately after the ceremony, noting that any damaged or unreturned gowns would attract a surcharge.
As part of security and crowd-control measures, the university announced that parking will be limited to designated areas, bags will not be allowed into the convocation square and no graduand will be admitted into the venue after 10:30 a.m. on the day of the event.
The statement further disclosed that photographers and vendors interested in covering or participating in the event must register and pay a fee of ₦500, adding that they will not be granted access into the convocation square.
The management urged all participants to comply strictly with the guidelines to ensure a smooth, orderly and successful convocation exercise.
