The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has issued an important notice to all newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session, announcing preparations for the upcoming Orientation and Matriculation ceremonies.
The announcement was contained in an internal memorandum released by the Student Affairs Division on Monday, November 3, 2025, and signed by the Student Affairs Officer, Mr. Olarewaju Oloruntele Raphael.
According to the memo, arrangements for both events are already underway, and the specific dates and venues will be communicated soon through the university’s official channels. Students were advised to stay updated and comply with all instructions as the university finalizes preparations.
The Orientation and Matriculation ceremonies, the memo noted, remain two of the most significant events in FUOYE’s academic calendar.
The Orientation programme serves to acquaint fresh students with FUOYE’s academic structure, code of conduct, student welfare services, and other institutional opportunities. It also provides a platform for new intakes to interact with key university officials and understand the university’s values and expectations.
The Matriculation ceremony, on the other hand, is the official induction of newly admitted students into the FUOYE academic community. It symbolizes their formal acceptance and marks the beginning of their academic journey at the university.
Mr. Oloruntele emphasized that only students who have fully completed their registration and payment of all required fees — including tuition and other sundry charges — will be eligible to participate in both ceremonies.
The memo reiterated that fee payment is a mandatory requirement for confirming studentship, warning that failure to complete payments before the Matriculation ceremony could lead to serious administrative consequences, including the possible withdrawal of admission.
The Student Affairs Division explained that the policy ensures proper documentation, accountability, and a seamless administrative process before the ceremonies.
Mr. Oloruntele assured that preparations were “in top gear” and that the university management was committed to hosting a memorable and well-organized event, reflecting FUOYE’s reputation for excellence and discipline.
He further encouraged the new students to view the Orientation and Matriculation not just as formalities, but as a celebration of their academic achievement and a call to responsibility.
“These events mark the beginning of an exciting academic journey. Students are encouraged to attend the Orientation exercise to understand the university’s culture and make the most of the opportunities available to them,” he said.
While congratulating the newly admitted students, the Student Affairs Officer reaffirmed FUOYE’s commitment to nurturing disciplined, creative, and responsible graduates.
