Prospective applicants to the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI) have been provided with a detailed breakdown of tuition and related charges for the 2025/2026 academic session, offering families clearer insight as they prepare financially for admission.

The specialised health sciences institution, located in Osun State, released the schedule covering newly admitted students as well as those in advanced levels across its medical and allied health programmes. University management noted that the published figures reflect the officially approved charges for the previous academic session and are intended to guide prospective candidates evaluating their options.

As a university focused exclusively on health-related disciplines, FUHSI operates a fee structure that varies by programme and level, reflecting differences in clinical exposure, laboratory demands and professional accreditation requirements. Authorities advised candidates to “stay informed and make smart admission decisions,” stressing that proper financial planning is essential in courses where training costs are inherently higher.

100-Level (Newly Admitted Students)

For fresh entrants, Medicine and Surgery carries the highest charge at ₦500,000, underscoring the extensive clinical training and infrastructure required for medical education.

Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, and Prosthetics and Orthotics are each pegged at ₦485,000 for first-year students.

Environmental Health Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Audiology fall within a mid-range band of ₦285,000.

Programmes such as Information Technology and Health Informatics, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology and Molecular Biology attract ₦265,000 at entry level.

200-Level

At the second-year stage, Medicine and Surgery students are to pay ₦320,000.

Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, and Prosthetics and Orthotics are set at ₦305,000.

Environmental Health Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Audiology are pegged at ₦255,000, while Information Technology and Health Informatics, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology and Molecular Biology attract ₦235,000.

300-Level

The structure remains largely consistent in the third year. Medicine and Surgery stands at ₦320,000, while Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, and Prosthetics and Orthotics remain ₦305,000.

Environmental Health Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Audiology continue at ₦255,000. Information Technology and Health Informatics, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology and Molecular Biology are maintained at ₦235,000.

400-Level

At the penultimate stage for many programmes, minor adjustments appear in select courses. Medicine and Surgery remains ₦320,000.

Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, and Prosthetics and Orthotics continue at ₦305,000.

Environmental Health Science increases slightly to ₦270,000, while Nutrition and Dietetics is ₦235,000. Audiology stands at ₦255,000.

Information Technology and Health Informatics is ₦220,000. Pharmacology attracts ₦270,000. Microbiology and Biochemistry are ₦235,000 each, while Biotechnology and Molecular Biology is ₦210,000.

Final Year (Applicable Four-Year Science Programmes)

For final-year students in selected science-based programmes, fees show modest reductions.

Environmental Health Science and Nutrition and Dietetics are ₦235,000 each. Information Technology and Health Informatics stands at ₦195,000. Microbiology and Biochemistry remain ₦235,000, while Biotechnology and Molecular Biology is ₦195,000.

The downward review in certain departments as students approach graduation reflects reduced laboratory intensity in the concluding phase of study.

Education analysts note that the published schedule provides much-needed transparency for families navigating admission decisions in Nigeria’s specialised health education sector.
