FG Unveils 2025–2027 Education Communication Strategy

The Federal Government has launched the 2025–2027 Education Communication Strategy and Framework to strengthen policy engagement, transparency, and public trust in the nation’s education sector.

Unveiling the framework in Abuja on Monday, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, described it as a blueprint for telling Nigeria’s education story “with clarity, credibility, and consistency.”

Alausa stressed that effective communication is a “critical success factor” in achieving the education priorities of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Today, we affirm that communication is not a peripheral activity but a central pillar of reform, accountability, and public trust,” the minister said. “Education is not only about classrooms and textbooks; it is about shaping the destiny of our children and the prosperity of our nation. That future cannot be built in silence—it must be explained, debated, supported, and embraced by the Nigerian people.”

The minister commended President Tinubu for what he described as unprecedented budgetary allocations to education, which have facilitated infrastructure upgrades, teacher training, and the rollout of the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI).

Highlighting NESRI’s six priority areas, Alausa noted significant progress in expanding Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). He disclosed that over 960,000 applications had been processed through a new digital platform, with 58,000 students already matched to training centres.

The 2025–2027 strategy, according to the ministry, is designed to ensure that reforms and initiatives in the sector are effectively communicated, fostering greater public engagement and ownership.
