The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, Professor Babatola Ayodele, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to an uninterrupted academic calendar, assuring newly admitted students that they will complete their programmes within the stipulated period.

Professor Ayodele gave the assurance while addressing students at the matriculation ceremony for those admitted into the regular programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The ceremony, held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the University’s Main Auditorium, formally inducted the fresh students into the EKSU academic community.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor said the university has sustained academic stability for several consecutive sessions, enabling students and parents to plan academic careers with certainty.

He stressed EKSU’s resolve to maintain consistency in teaching, learning and examination schedules, declaring, “Four years is four years at EKSU,” a statement that drew applause from the audience.

Professor Ayodele attributed the stability to effective collaboration among stakeholders within and outside the university system. He specifically acknowledged the support of the Visitor to the University and Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his commitment to institutional growth and stability.

He also commended staff unions and students’ leaders for embracing dialogue in resolving grievances, noting that continuous engagement and mutual understanding have helped the institution avoid disruptions common in many public universities.

Addressing the matriculants, the Vice-Chancellor reminded them that gaining admission into EKSU is highly competitive and should be treated as a privilege.

He urged the students to remain focused, disciplined and committed to academic excellence throughout their stay, adding that their education should be seen as preparation for service to humanity.

“The world is waiting for you to make a positive and enduring impact on the global society in the not-too-distant future,” he said.

While congratulating the students and their parents, Professor Ayodele thanked them for the confidence reposed in Ekiti State University as a destination for quality higher education.

He assured stakeholders of the university’s continued commitment to providing quality education in a conducive, student-friendly academic environment.

The ceremony featured the administration of the matriculation oath and other rites marking the formal admission of the students into the university.

The event was attended by members of the university management, academic and non-academic staff, parents, guardians and well-wishers.
