Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of Professor Andrew Babatunde Omojola as the new Vice Chancellor of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI).
Prof. Omojola, an accomplished Professor of Animal Science with expertise in Animal Products, Processing, and Food Safety, currently serves as the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan. His appointment was announced on Monday in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
He succeeds Prof. Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa, whose tenure as Vice Chancellor is scheduled to end on January 6, 2026.
A Distinguished Academic Profile
Born on August 14, 1962, in Usi-Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area, Prof. Omojola attended Notre Dame College, Usi-Ekiti, before proceeding to the University of Ibadan in 1984. He graduated with a Second Class Upper degree in Animal Science in 1988, obtained his Master’s degree in 1991, and earned a PhD in Animal Science from the same institution in 1997.
Prof. Omojola began his academic career as a Lecturer II at the University of Ibadan in 1997 and rose to the rank of Professor in 2011. Over the years, he has held several key academic and administrative positions, including:

Governor Oyebanji, who serves as the Visitor to BOUESTI, congratulated the newly appointed Vice Chancellor and urged him to deploy his vast academic and administrative experience to further elevate BOUESTI as a world-class institution. He wished Prof. Omojola a successful and impactful tenure.
