VC hails NUC approval

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Fatimah Tahir, described the approval as a strong endorsement of the university's commitment to academic excellence, institutional growth and compliance with the regulatory standards of the NUC.

She said the new programmes align with the institution's strategic vision of expanding access to quality higher education, strengthening research and innovation, and producing graduates equipped to address contemporary national and global challenges.

Prof. Tahir expressed appreciation to the NUC for its confidence in the university's capacity to deliver the approved programmes, assuring that the institution would sustain the standards upon which the approvals were granted.

She also commended the Governor of Bauchi State and Visitor to the university, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for his continued investment in higher education.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the governor's commitment to infrastructure development, academic growth and institutional support has created an enabling environment for the university's steady progress.

She equally applauded the university's Governing Council, Senate, management, academic and non-academic staff for their dedication and professionalism throughout the NUC resource assessment process.

Prof. Tahir assured prospective students, parents and stakeholders that the university would provide the necessary human and material resources to ensure the effective implementation of the newly approved programmes in line with the commission's quality assurance guidelines.

She added that the latest approval further reinforces SAZU's position as one of Nigeria's emerging public universities committed to academic excellence, impactful research, innovation and community service.

"The University remains steadfast in its mission of producing competent graduates, advancing knowledge through research and contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Bauchi State, Nigeria and the global community," she said.
