The Students Da’wah Committee (ASDAC) of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, has successfully organised a comprehensive two-day orientation programme for newly admitted students, designed to ease their transition into academic, personal, and spiritual life within the institution.
The event, themed “Climbing the Steps,” was held on Friday and Saturday, January 9 and 10, 2026, and served as a formal welcome for freshers while equipping them with the guidance and information needed for successful university life.
Activities began on Friday with the Prof. Lateef Oladimeji Inter-Faculty Qur’an Competition, which featured outstanding displays of Qur’anic recitation and memorisation from students across various faculties. Participants received certificates, while exceptional performers were honoured with special awards during the grand finale.
The programme continued on Saturday at the Main Campus Auditorium, where freshers were officially received and exposed to a series of motivational and educational sessions aimed at helping them settle into the university system.
Welcoming the students, the University Bursar, Mr. Hafis Omoniyi, FCA, reaffirmed Al-Hikmah University’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and strong moral standards.
A key highlight of the event was a lecture titled “Balancing Academics and Personal Growth,” delivered by Dr. Ismail Abdulraheem of Muhammad Kamaludeen University, Ilorin. He offered practical insights on maintaining strong academic performance while nurturing values, character, and essential life skills.
The ASDAC orientation provided an engaging and interactive platform for freshers to familiarise themselves with campus life, strengthen their moral foundation, and better understand the values and expectations of Al-Hikmah University.
