The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will not facilitate admissions for the Law programme in eight universities due to the suspension of their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) courses.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, revealed that the Council of Legal Education (CLE) had suspended these institutions' Law programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session over regulatory infractions.
The affected universities include:
- Kwara State University, Malete, Kwara State
- Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State
- Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State
- Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State
- Taraba State University, Jalingo, Taraba State
- Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State
- Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State
- Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State
Benjamin further stated that the suspension at the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, will last for two academic sessions, specifically covering 2025/2026 and 2026/2027.
"As a consequence, JAMB will not process admissions for candidates applying to study Law at these institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session," he said.
Additionally, he confirmed that the restriction on Law programme admissions at the Nigerian Police Academy will extend into the 2026/2027 academic session. (NAN)
