Lagos, Nigeria – The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially commenced online registration for its Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening for the 2025/2026 academic session, with a clear set of eligibility criteria and stern warnings on student conduct.

According to a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs. V. Abosede Wickliffe, the registration exercise will run from Monday, July 28 to Wednesday, August 20, 2025, and is open to all candidates who selected UNILAG as their first-choice institution in the 2025 UTME and scored a minimum of 200.

Admission Conditions and Requirements

Eligible candidates must have obtained five credit passes at a single sitting in relevant O-level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. Additionally, only those who upload their O-level results on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal on or before September 12, 2025, will be considered for admission.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2025, while participation in the online aptitude test is mandatory—failure to sit for the exam will result in automatic disqualification.

The University emphasized that former students withdrawn for academic reasons or prolonged absence may reapply, provided they seek admission into a different programme. However, students previously expelled for disciplinary offenses remain ineligible for re-admission under any circumstance.

Registration and Test Schedule

Candidates are required to register using a personal and active email address, which will serve as the primary means of communication throughout the application process. The registration fee totals ₦5,500, comprising ₦2,000 for the application and ₦3,500 for administrative costs. Payments are to be made either online or via any commercial bank, after which applicants can complete their forms on the official UNILAG website.

To prepare candidates for the main screening, the University will conduct an online mock exam from August 25 to 27, while the official Post-UTME screening is scheduled to take place from September 1 to 5, 2025.

Zero Tolerance on Drug Abuse

UNILAG reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on drug abuse, warning that any candidate—admitted or not—who tests positive for drug use will have their admission withdrawn, regardless of their academic performance or stage of registration.
