The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has commenced the payment of arrears amounting to N44,000 to corps members. This move comes as part of efforts to ensure that all outstanding payments owed to corps members are settled promptly.
The N44,000 arrears represent a backlog of allowances that had not been paid to eligible corps members in previous months. NYSC management assured that the payments would be processed quickly and credited directly into the bank accounts of the affected corps members.
This development has been welcomed by many corps members who have expressed relief and gratitude, as the arrears will help ease some financial burdens faced during their service year.
NYSC also urged all corps members to regularly check their payment status via the official NYSC portal and report any discrepancies to the appropriate NYSC authorities to facilitate swift resolution.
The agency continues to encourage corps members to remain dedicated and committed as they serve their nation through various community development projects and initiatives.
