Ikom, Cross River State – In a heartwarming gesture of community support, the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), South-South 7 Regional Headquarters — popularly known as Wonder City, Ikom — has distributed thousands of educational materials to pupils across government primary schools in the region as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.
The outreach, which touched several schools including St. Martins Primary School, Holy Child Covenant School, Presbyterian Primary School, Government Primary School, and Primary School Grassfield, saw the distribution of 500 school bags, 4,000 big notebooks, 2,000 pens, 2,000 pencils, 2,000 erasers, and 2,000 sharpeners.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Pastor Morenikeji Jesusina, Regional Overseer of MFM Ikom and Chairman of MFM Regions in the Ikom Axis, said the initiative was born out of a deep concern for the plight of young learners affected by the country’s economic strain.
“Education is the most powerful weapon that can change the world,” Jesusina declared. “This is more than just a bag or a book — it’s our way of restoring dignity, offering hope, and giving children the tools they need to succeed in a difficult time.”
Beyond material support, the pupils were also blessed spiritually through prayers and prophetic declarations, which Pastor Jesusina said were meant to “shape destinies and plant seeds of greatness.”
A Broader Mission of Empowerment
The educational outreach is just one component of MFM’s expanding community impact agenda. Pastor Jesusina highlighted other CSR initiatives championed by the church, including:

Operation No Member Must Go Hungry, a weekly programme that provides food and cash support to struggling families.

Jesus Market, where essential goods are sold to the community at a 75% discount.

25% tuition support for church members enrolled in private universities.

Food relief and welfare outreach to widows, orphanages, and correctional centers, often led by the youth wing of the church.
“These initiatives reflect MFM’s commitment to holistic transformation — spiritually, socially, and economically,” Jesusina added.
Joy That Lit Up Classrooms
The impact of the outreach was palpable across the beneficiary schools. Teachers, parents, and school heads could hardly contain their gratitude, noting that the gesture extended far beyond physical aid.
“The joy was contagious,” a teacher from St. Martins Primary School recalled. “In that moment, the classrooms were brighter — not just with supplies, but with the light of hope.”
One parent, visibly moved, remarked, “What MFM has done today goes deeper than charity. They’ve given our children the confidence to walk into school with pride.”
As the outreach concluded, pupils could be seen clutching their new school bags with wide smiles, some already flipping through their fresh notebooks — a testament to the power of simple acts of kindness to inspire big dreams.
In a time of widespread economic challenges, MFM’s example stands as a reminder that faith-based organisations can play a critical role in reshaping communities and reigniting hope through action.
