JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, noted that the board has never experienced a faster and more efficient registration process than this year’s UTME registration.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will close on March 8, 2025, with no possibility of an extension.

Registration, which commenced on February 3, has already recorded over 1.5 million successful candidates.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, emphasized that the deadline had been clearly stated in all official advertisements and the 2025 UTME calendar. He urged prospective candidates to register promptly and avoid last-minute rush.

“We wish to inform all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period. This notice is particularly important given the recent decline in the number of candidates registering for the examination,” the statement read.

JAMB also highlighted that its operational calendar is strictly structured, with key activities such as examinations, results processing, and admissions exercises following the registration period. Any extension, the Board noted, would disrupt not only its schedule but also the timelines of partner agencies.

For the first time in its history, JAMB has successfully registered over 80,000 candidates per day, surpassing the initial target of 60,000 daily registrations.

Given this milestone, the Board stressed that the efficiency of the registration process eliminates any need for an extension, reassuring candidates that operations remain smooth and uninterrupted.
