In a significant move to improve educational standards, the Federal Government (FG) has launched a comprehensive Quality Assurance Scheme targeting secondary schools nationwide. This initiative aims to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality education across all public and private secondary institutions.

The scheme will involve regular monitoring, evaluation, and assessment of schools to guarantee they meet the required academic, infrastructural, and administrative standards. Officials stated that the program will focus on curriculum implementation, teacher performance, student welfare, and learning outcomes.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Minister of Education emphasized the government’s commitment to raising the bar in secondary education, noting that quality assurance is key to producing well-rounded students prepared for higher education and the workforce.

“We recognize the vital role that secondary education plays in the development of our nation,” the Minister said. “Through this scheme, we aim to ensure that every student receives a standard of education that empowers them for future success.”

The Federal Government also highlighted plans to collaborate with educational stakeholders, including teachers’ unions, school administrators, and parents, to make the scheme effective and sustainable.

School authorities have welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that it will bring much-needed improvements to teaching standards and infrastructure, ultimately benefiting students across the country.

The implementation of the Quality Assurance Scheme marks a proactive step in addressing longstanding challenges in secondary education, and the government assures the public that periodic reviews will be conducted to track progress and introduce necessary adjustments.
