Speaking at the opening of a one-day sensitization exercise in Asaba for stakeholders of the 2023 Agricultural Education Training Programme, Hon. Samuel Mariere emphasized the program’s objectives. He explained that the initiative is designed to equip learners in public primary and junior secondary schools with entrepreneurial skills, promote self-employment, and instill a sense of dignity in labor.
Hon. Samuel Mariere revealed that 40 schools, including both primary and junior secondary institutions across Delta State, participated in the Agricultural Education Training Programme.
He emphasized that the initiative is learner-centered, urging stakeholders to ensure that students are actively engaged in all stages of the program to familiarize them with practical agricultural practices.
The Chairman also praised Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his steadfast commitment to educational advancement in the state. He highlighted the governor’s timely payment of the state’s counterpart fund, which facilitated access to the general fund needed for the program’s implementation.
