The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which began on February 3, will officially close on March 8, 2025.
In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, emphasized that there will be no extension of the registration period, as the deadline was clearly stated in all official advertisements and the 2025 UTME calendar.
The announcement follows JAMB’s disclosure that over 1.5 million candidates have successfully completed their registration.
“We wish to remind all prospective candidates that there will be no extension of the registration period,” the statement read.
“This reminder is especially important due to the recent decline in the number of candidates registering. We urge all interested individuals to register promptly and avoid last-minute rush.
“As of now, over 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered, which is in line with the Board’s projections for the 2025 examination cycle. It is crucial to note that our calendar is fixed, with multiple subsequent activities scheduled after registration, including the examination, results processing, and the admissions exercise.
“These timelines are aligned with other agencies whose operations depend on the timely completion of our processes. Therefore, any extension would not only disrupt JAMB’s plans but also affect our partners.
“In view of this, we strongly advise candidates to complete their registration as soon as possible, adhering to the set timeline for the 2025 UTME.”
